My first pedicure: an analysis.

I’ve always been against paying for something that I could do myself. For example, I’m not going to take my computer in for “repairs”, or order pasta at a restaurant. It’s a waste of my time and money.

I’ve gotten enough compliments about my nails during my lifetime that I know that going to get my nails done would achieve nothing. I’ve been for a manicure twice; both times it was because I had received birthday vouchers, and both times I could have done it better myself.

Which is why on Saturday, when faced with a 50% off birthday loyalty voucher, and an additional gift voucher, I decided to go for a pedi instead. I figured it would probably last longer than a mani would.

The ordeal lasted about 45 minutes, and involved sanding, buffing, cutting, poking, scrubbing and massaging. I did not enjoy it at all (not that I was expecting to). My toes do look neat though, and I can admit that I would not have been able to do that on my own. I doubt I will do it again though.
